A few weeks ago, Phi Delta Theta – Iowa Delta kicked off their philanthropy week! All proceeds from the week went to the ALS Association Iowa Chapter. Fantastic job to the brothers of Phi Delta Theta for organizing a wonderful week. I am glad I could be a part of this experience!
During the week, the Phi Delts spent some time tabling in the student center at Drake University. Students and faculty passing by spent $15-20 to purchase a t-shirt and pie a Phi! I stopped by the table and got the opportunity to pie one of the brothers, Sean, in the face. Unfortunately, I was a little too aggressive and the whipped cream splattered ALL over the wall! Oops.
The main event of the week was a pie eating contest held at the Phi Delta Theta house. Two sororities on campus had a representative at this contest. A huge thank you to the ladies of Alpha Delta Pi and Kappa Alpha Theta for participating in the pie eating contest. Congratulations to the winner, Sarah Beth! She won some ALS Association merchandise, courtesy of the ALS Association Iowa Chapter. I also had the opportunity to say a few words about my ALS work at this event.
Great job to the guys of Phi Delta Theta for throwing a successful philanthropy week. It was also wonderful to see the ALS Association Iowa Chapter staff at the pie eating contest. I am excited for philanthropy week next spring!
