Today I spoke about ALS and my mission to end the disease at Nathan Hale Middle School in Crestwood, IL! My plan was to focus on an informative handout and short activity that would help the students be more engaged with my presentations. My plan definitely worked! The students thought of several great ideas for assistive devices and asked interesting questions. One thing I liked this year was that I did not have a script so my presentations were much more authentic.
My presentations went very well today. I am extremely proud of myself and cannot wait to educate more people about this horrible disease. I am so thankful that I get wonderful opportunities like this to share my passion for fighting ALS with my community. Thank you so much to the faculty and students at Nathan Hale Middle School for their support along my journey to a cure for ALS! Also, check out this motor neuron below that was made by an 8th grader at Nathan Hale. Isn’t it amazing?!
